This part of the Atlantic coast features four islands - Ré, Aix, Oleron and Madame - lying just off its shores.

Sequoia Parc is situated close to the oyster beds that have made this region famous throughout the world for its oysters. If you love seafood in general you'll be spoilt for choice.

The region is also famous for its Cognac and Pineau: vinyards and distilleries in the region can be visited.
